Introduction
Welcome to Insurance Exam Practice ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you understand how we handle information when you use our website at insuranceexampractice.com (the "Service").
Information We Collect
Information You Provide
Our Service is designed to be used without creating an account or providing personal information. We do not require registration, email addresses, or any personal data to use our practice tests.
Question Discussion and Ratings
If you post in a question discussion, we store the text you write, the nickname you choose (shown publicly), an optional email address (stored encrypted and used only to email you when someone replies to your post; every such email carries an unsubscribe link and the address is never shown), the time of posting, and a hashed browser identifier and hashed IP address used for spam prevention, vote limits and moderation. The full IP address is kept on the moderation record for 30 days and then deleted. Posts are reviewed before they appear and may be edited or removed by moderators. "Was this helpful" votes, test ratings and anonymous answer statistics are stored as counts with the same hashed identifiers and no name. Approved posts, with the nickname, may also be shown on public discussion pages for that question. To have a post removed, email us with a link to the question.
Automatically Collected Information
When you visit our website, we may automatically collect:
- Browser type and version
- Operating system
- Pages visited and time spent on pages
- Referring website
- IP address (anonymized)
Local Storage
We use your browser's local storage to save your test progress and preferences. This data is stored only on your device and is not transmitted to our servers. You can clear this data at any time through your browser settings.
Exam Reminder Notifications
If you turn on exam reminders on the My Progress page, your browser creates a push subscription and we store its opaque endpoint and encryption keys together with the exam date and your device's time zone offset - nothing that identifies you. We use it only to send the reminder notifications you asked for (a week, three days and one day before the exam, and on exam morning). Turning reminders off, clearing the exam date, or revoking notification permission in your browser deletes the subscription; it is also removed two days after the exam date.
How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
- Provide and improve our practice test services
- Analyze website usage and performance
- Fix technical issues and bugs
- Understand user preferences to enhance user experience
