What the life and health exam covers

"Life and health" is one licence line in many states - Texas calls it General Lines Life, Accident and Health, Georgia calls it Life, Accident and Sickness, Florida issues it as the 2-15 licence, and Ohio, New York and Michigan offer a single combined sitting alongside the separate exams. Whichever name your state uses, the exam draws on two national outlines at once: the life outline (policy types, riders and provisions, underwriting, annuities, retirement and tax rules) and the accident & health outline (medical expense plans, disability income, group coverage, Medicare and Medicaid, the Affordable Care Act).

This site keeps the two banks separate so each mirrors its own outline exactly: 276 original life questions and 280 original health questions, every one with an explanation. To prepare for a combined exam, run the timed mock exam for each line, then use quiz mode to drill the topics you miss. The state pages below quote the official question counts, time limits, passing scores and fees for each combined exam, taken from the current candidate handbooks.

Practice questions reviewed by Michael Bennett, Robert Hayes, Rebecca Lawson and Jennifer Collins — working insurance professionals with 50 years of combined experience. Meet the instructors.
