Florida's best-known life and health credential is the 2-15 license, and its exam is the "Agent's Health & Life (including Annuities & Variable Contracts)" exam from Pearson VUE. It is the largest of the state's agent exams: 150 scored questions in 2 hours 45 minutes, against 85 scored questions for the life-only (2-14) or health-only (2-40) exams.

How the Florida life and health exam works

Because the 2-15 exam covers annuities and variable contracts as well as life and health, expect more questions on annuity types, suitability, and securities-related concepts than on a plain life exam. The Florida-specific portion is built from the Florida Statutes Chapter 626 (licensing) and Chapter 627 (policy provisions) and the Department of Financial Services rules.

Florida life and health exam FAQs

Is the Florida 2-15 exam the same as a life and health exam?

Yes. The 2-15 license covers health, life, annuities and variable contracts, and its single exam has 150 scored questions in 2.75 hours with a 70% pass mark.

How does the 2-15 exam compare with the 2-14 and 2-40 exams?

The 2-14 (life) and 2-40 (health) exams each have 85 scored questions in 2 hours. The 2-15 exam nearly doubles that because it tests both lines plus annuities and variable contracts.

Does the site have a Florida-specific 2-15 practice test?

Practice both banks here - the life bank and the health bank - and use the mock exam timer on each. Florida-law questions are being added; confirm current statute details with the Department of Financial Services.
