Download the Texas PDF (212 pages, 1,086 questions)
Every question comes with its correct letter, a plain-English explanation and the Texas Insurance Code, Labor Code or Administrative Code section behind it. The questions are original practice questions written against the Pearson VUE content outline for Texas; they are not actual exam questions, and nothing in the file replaces the official candidate handbook.
If you searched for a Texas life and health insurance exam questions and answers PDF, this is the file: 1,086 practice questions in one download covering the Life Agent exam, the General Lines - Life, Accident and Health exam and the General Lines - Property and Casualty exam. The first 90 questions are the Texas-law questions from this site's Texas mock exams (30 life, 30 accident and health, 30 property and casualty), which is the part of the exam that a national study guide cannot teach you: the 30-question Texas section of each exam. The remaining 996 questions are the national banks for the three lines. No registration, no email, no watermark asking you to buy anything. Last updated September 2026.

Order inside the file: a cover page with the exam facts below, then the 90 Texas-law questions grouped by line, then the national questions grouped by line, and last an answer key that gives the correct letter, the explanation and the citation for every question. Because the Texas section sits at the front you can print those pages alone and drill the state material in an evening.
Texas exam facts (verified September 2026)
Texas licenses through the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) and tests through Pearson VUE. There is no health-only producer exam in Texas: Accident and Health authority comes from the combined Life, Accident and Health exam, and Property and Casualty is a single combined exam. Each exam has a general-knowledge part and a Texas state-specific part scored together.
| Exam | Questions | Time | Passing | Fee |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Life Agent (InsTX-Life01) | 50 scored + 5 pretest (general knowledge) plus 30 scored + 5 pretest (Texas state-specific) = 80 scored + 10 pretest | 120 minutes | 70 scaled score | $39 |
| General Lines - Life, Accident and Health (InsTX-LAH05) | 100 scored + 10 pretest (L&H general knowledge) plus 30 scored + 5 pretest (Texas state-specific) = 130 scored + 15 pretest | 150 minutes | 70 scaled score | $49 |
| General Lines - Property and Casualty (InsTC-PC06) | 100 scored + 10 pretest (P&C general knowledge) plus 30 scored + 5 pretest (Texas state-specific) = 130 scored + 15 pretest | 150 minutes | 70 scaled score | $49 |
The passing mark is a 70 scaled score on a 0-100 scale set by TDI; it is not the number or percentage of questions answered correctly, so do not assume 70% raw is enough on the day.
Prelicensing: none. Texas has no prelicensing education hours requirement; the handbook's general license requirements list only age 18+, passing the exam, application with fee, and fingerprint receipt.
Verified September 2026 from the Texas Insurance Licensing Candidate Handbook, October 2024 (#124400), Pearson VUE, with content outlines effective September 1, 2026 (#124401) - read the official Texas candidate handbook at Pearson VUE. If a figure here disagrees with the current handbook, the handbook is right.

Sample Texas questions with answers
Three questions reproduced from the answer key exactly as they appear in the file, one per line.
Question 1 (Life). In a Texas life insurance replacement, the replacing insurer must give the owner notice of the right to return the new policy for an unconditional full refund of all premiums within how long after delivery?
- A. 10 days
- B. 15 days
- C. 20 days
- D. 30 days
Answer: D. 30 days. Texas replacement law requires the replacing insurer to provide notice that the owner may return the new policy or contract within 30 days of delivery and receive an unconditional full refund of all premiums or considerations paid. This is longer than an ordinary free-look period and applies specifically to replacement transactions. See Tex. Ins. Code 1114.053.
Question 2 (Accident and health). A Texas employee who is not eligible for COBRA elects state continuation of her group health coverage. The continued coverage may remain in force for up to:
- A. nine months after the date she elects continuation
- B. six months after termination of employment
- C. 18 months after the qualifying event
- D. 36 months after the qualifying event
Answer: A. nine months after the date she elects continuation. State continuation lasts up to nine months after the date of election for persons not eligible for COBRA, and up to six additional months for those who have exhausted COBRA continuation. See Tex. Ins. Code 1251.255.
Question 3 (Property and casualty). Under Texas law, an insurer may refuse to renew a homeowners policy based on claims history only when the insured has filed how many claims within what period?
- A. Two claims in any two-year period
- B. Two claims in any three-year period
- C. Three claims in any three-year period
- D. Three claims in any five-year period
Answer: C. Three claims in any three-year period. An insurer may refuse to renew a standard fire, homeowners or farm and ranch owners policy when the insured has filed three or more claims under the policy in any three-year period. Claims from natural causes, claims filed but not paid, and certain water-damage claims do not count, and after two claims in three years the insurer must warn the insured that a third claim could trigger nonrenewal. A surcharge, not nonrenewal, is allowed after two claims in the preceding three policy years. See Tex. Ins. Code 551.107.
How to study with this PDF
- Start with the Texas section for your exam and answer it on paper before reading the key: 30 questions for the Life Agent exam, 60 for Life, Accident and Health, 30 for Property and Casualty.
- Texas questions turn on day counts and dollar caps that differ from the national material: 31 days for group life grace but "at least one month" for individual life, a 45th-day automatic reinstatement in health, 59 days on a personal auto policy but 60 on homeowners. Write each number you missed next to its code section; the exam asks for the number.
- Take the timed Texas mock for your line online: life (90 questions in 120 minutes, like the Life Agent exam), accident and health or property and casualty (145 questions in 150 minutes, like the two General Lines exams). Each mixes the Texas-law questions into the national bank the way Pearson VUE does and explains every answer.
- Remember the scaled score. Both parts of a Texas exam feed one 70 scaled score, so a strong national part will not carry a weak state part. Work the national sections of the PDF until you are consistently above 80% on the mock.
- Life, Accident and Health candidates: read the Texas life and health exam guide for the 13 outline sections and their weights before you decide how to split your time.

Frequently asked questions
Are these the actual Texas insurance exam questions?
No. The file holds 1,086 original practice questions written against the Pearson VUE content outline for Texas, including 90 that cite the Texas Insurance Code, Labor Code or TDI rule they test. Real exam questions are never published; any site that says otherwise is selling something it does not have.
Does it cover the Texas state-specific section of the exam?
Yes. Each Texas exam has a 30-question state-specific part, and the PDF opens with 30 life, 30 accident and health and 30 property and casualty questions on those Texas rules, ahead of the 996 national questions that cover the general-knowledge part.
Which Texas exam is it for - Life Agent, Life Accident and Health, or Property and Casualty?
All three. Use the life section for the Life Agent exam (InsTX-Life01), the life and accident and health sections together for General Lines - Life, Accident and Health (InsTX-LAH05), and the property and casualty section for General Lines - Property and Casualty (InsTC-PC06). Texas has no separate health-only exam.
How current is the Texas PDF?
The exam facts were verified in September 2026 from the Pearson VUE Texas candidate handbook (#124400) and the content outlines effective September 1, 2026 (#124401). The newest Texas questions were reviewed on September 16, 2026. When a cited section changes, the question is rewritten, the file is regenerated and the date at the top of this page moves.
Can I print it?
Yes. It is a 212-page text PDF, questions first and the answer key at the back, so you can print the Texas section on its own or the whole file. Keep the source line intact if you share it, and please do not resell it.
Do I have to register or give an email to download it?
No. There is no registration, email or payment - the download button opens the PDF directly in your browser.
